Thanksgiving Shopping Feast
JCPenney will kick off the holiday shopping season with its annual Black Friday sale, beginning on Thanksgiving Day when doors open at 3 p.m. For customers who prefer to get a head start on their shopping, Black Friday prices will be available on jcp.com all day on Thanksgiving, with all orders over $49 receiving free shipping. JCPenney store associates will join in the holiday fun by wearing festive holiday attire, making it easy for shoppers to spot helpful and knowledgeable associates throughout the store.
Early Thanksgiving Day shoppers will be greeted with an envelope containing a coupon worth $10 off $10, $100 off $100 or $500 off a $500 or more purchase, while supplies last. These coupons are available for immediate redemption, giving some lucky customers the opportunity for a major shopping spree. Additionally, each envelope includes a unique code that customers can use to enter the JCPenney Black Friday Sweepstakes at jcp.com/sweepstakes by Nov. 30 for a chance to win one of ten $10,000 cash grand prizes. Furthermore, customers who spend $100 or more on gift cards from Nov. 26-28 will receive a $25 off $25 coupon.

Black Friday Marks the Final Disney Snow Globe Giveaway
The giveaways continue on Black Friday when associates begin passing out free Disney snow globes starting at 3 p.m., while supplies last. An annual Black Friday shopping tradition at JCPenney since 2002, this will be the Company’s final year to offer its collectible Disney snow globe. New Doorbuster offers will also be available that day beginning at 3 p.m. through Saturday, along with an instant savings coupon for $10 off $25 or more. The savings continue Nov. 29-30 during the JCPenney Cyber Monday Sale where shoppers will discover over 50,000 deals online at jcp.com, as well as in stores.
“Where Giving Begins” Integrated Marketing Campaign
JCPenney’s holiday strategy will be supported by its “Where Giving Begins” marketing campaign, which includes branded and promotional broadcast spots, national print ads in top fashion and lifestyle magazines, along with digital, mobile, direct mail and email components. JCPenney will deliver a jovial social media campaign to take the role of Secret Santa, sending surprise gifts to the movers and shakers who made headlines in 2015. The retailer will send a special gift from JCPenney, dubbed a #GiftToast via social to the most naughty and nicest newsmakers. The social campaign will also scan social media to discover opportunities for JCPenney to surprise and delight unsuspecting fans with their very own #GiftToast as well.
JCPenney will weave gift tags throughout its marketing, with playful personas such as “workout warriors,” “kitchen gadget gurus,” “bling-loving besties” and "no fear fashionistas” to inspire gift ideas. An online hub at jcp.com/gifts will also allow customers to search for gifts by category, theme and price, and even print personalized gift tags. Additionally, the retailer will promote “snap 2 shop” throughout its print marketing, highlighting a unique feature available on the JCPenney iPhone and Android apps. Leveraging image recognition technology, the feature allows users to simply snap a photo of any object to find the exact or like item on jcp.com for purchase.
Sharing the Holiday Spirit
From Dec. 1-19, customers will be invited to round up their JCPenney store purchases to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to JCPenney Cares, a non-profit dedicated to ensuring kids are safe, healthy and engaged beyond the classroom. Customers shopping on jcp.com can round up their online purchases throughout the entire month of December to support these efforts. Symbolizing the spirit of giving, candy-cane striped gloves worn by JCPenney store associates this holiday season will be available for $5 now through Dec. 24, with $2 of the purchase price benefitting JCPenney Cares.
Additionally, in celebration of #GivingTuesday on Dec. 1, JCPenney Cares will be making a $100,000 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In 11 select cities, JCPenney will invite kids from local Boys & Girls Clubs to visit a JCPenney store and participate in a special shopping experience that enables kids to select gifts for their families while being treated to a special visit with a local hometown celebrity.
